Collection Time/Method: In late summer, the dried manna-containing flowers are shaken on a cloth to separate the hard, dried drops, and then they are collected.

Medicinal Properties/Uses: The most important medicinal effect is its diuretic property. It is diaphoretic, expectorant, and laxative. Oil extracted from this plant is used for rheumatic pains. It is used for infectious fevers in children and measles.
